This narrative poem beautifully captures the enduring nature of love and legacy. It follows the journey of a man from infancy to fatherhood, telling a heartfelt story of growth, familial bonds, and the enduring power of love that shapes and defines his existence. Each stanza unfolds a chapter of his life, highlighting moments of vulnerability, courage, and celebration, all woven together by the unbreakable thread of family affection. Through this poetic tale, we witness not just the evolution of a person but the timeless transmission of love from one generation to the next, inspiring hope and a sense of continuity.
A babe was born, so frail and small,
In arms of love, he'd never fall.
His folks stood by through thick and thin,
Their love, his shield, his life, his win.
He grew and saw what love could be,
A force that time could not set free.
At school, he saw a lass so sweet,
But feared to tell, his heart would beat.
With bravery, his love confessed,
He found support, not jeers or jest.
His parents taught him love's true worth,
To cherish it from cradle to earth.
From boy to man, he quickly sped,
Each dawn with pride, his steps we tread.
He had his dad's eyes, mom's sweet smile,
Their traits in him, all the while.
I observed his journey as he grew,
In him, the future man I knew.
Each victory we'd celebrate,
Bound by love, an unbroken state.
Off to college, his spirit soared,
His choice in love, we all adored.
With his degree, he found his mate,
Our happiness could not abate.
Though far from home, our son does stray,
In our hearts, he'll always stay.
This bond of love, through time, does chart,
Always near in spirit, close at heart.
From youth to spouse, to father's role,
His tale of love does cheer the soul.
Now with his own, life's circle starts anew,
A legacy of love, genuine and true.
Now as a father, love's depth he feels,
Grasps fully what a parent deals.
With pride, he looks on child and wife,
Reflects on his path, love, and life.
This love between a child and kin,
The strongest force there's ever been.
It lasts beyond the earth and sky,
Love's bond, forever, cannot die.
